ABOUT US
JENNI BRUEN
Owner and Dyslexia Specialist
Jenni Bruen is a Nationally Board Certified Teacher, the most rigorous educational licensing program in the United States. With over 25 years of experience as an educator, she has taught grades Kindergarten through 6 and led workshops for teens and teachers. Most recently, she worked for 15 years as a resource teacher in the Advanced Academics Program in Fairfax County Public Schools. In this capacity, while identifying students for gifted services, she discovered a dichotomy. Many students who displayed gifted tendencies also struggled with reading and writing. This led her on a personal quest to understand dyslexia, in order to help all children unlock their full potential
Jenni is licensed by the state of Virginia in both elementary and gifted education, is certified by the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE) in the Orton-Gillingham Approach, trained in the Wilson Reading System and accredited by the IDA as a Structured Literacy Teacher. Jenni is also a Master Level IMSE Orton-Gillingham Instructor. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from New York University in Elementary Education, her Master of Science degree in Curriculum Development and Instruction from the State University of New York and a Teaching Endorsement in Gifted Education from the University of Virginia.
Most importantly, she is passionate about helping the children sitting in front of her to develop their natural gifts and achieve academic success.
